linezolid

An antibacterial drug which is used for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria. Linezolid belongs to oxazolidinone class of medicines, which are are protein synthesis inhibitors. Linezolid stops the growth and reproduction of bacteria by disrupting translation of messenger RNA (mRNA) into proteins in the ribosome.
