A 4-azasteroid analogue of testosterone, Finasteride is used for the treatment of enlarged prostrate and pattern hair loss (alopaecia). It is a inhibitor of 5α-reductase enzyme which coverts testosterone to ditestosterone. Finasteride is lipophillic in nature..
